Greater knowledge and understanding of the risks and dangers when working with storage equipment within your workplace can have a huge impact in improving not only safety, but also your work practices and efficiency.
The BTS Access & Storage run Rack Safety Awareness courses in conjunction with SEMA.
Run by an approved SEMA trainer, these can be held at your site or if you would prefer at alternative offsite training facilities.
Both classroom based and practical, these courses are designed with warehouse operatives in mind with the aim of improving general safety and understanding regarding the safe use of storage equipment within warehouse environments. It will provide delegates with advice and guidance to enable them to carry out basic, weekly in-house rack checks in accordance with SEMA guidelines. It also offers advice on how to comply with the law, conduct risk assessments, report damage levels and action points.
These courses include full course notes. Refreshments, including lunch will be provided.
Delegates that attend this course are provided with a complimentary set of SEMA course notes that not only assist them on the day but can also help them to form part of their maintenance plan moving forwards.
Although this course has a large amount of classroom based work it does not mean that people cannot get involved. In fact, delegates are actively encouraged to take part as much as they are comfortable to, as we look at real life scenarios, the do's & don'ts plus the process involved when classifying damage and risks.
The last part of the day is spent assessing storage equipment to enable delegates to practice what they have learnt throughout the classroom based part of the course. Guided by the SEMA tutor the delegates will look further into the types of damage, the tolerances allowed & how to report it.
